5 THE HARD WAY; The UMOJA POSSE RIDES AGAIN!!!
With influences deeply rooted in Jamaican dancehall, roots, dub, and rock steady music. And from the disco breaks and hip hop sounds coming straight outta the east coasts 5 boroughs in the late 80’s and into the 90’s “Golden Era”. Top that off with some jungle, drum and bass, garage, and dub-step chunes resonating up from the streets of Brixton and Bristol in the United Kingdom and you have Umoja Hi Fi.
The UMOJA SOUNDSYSTEM DJ’s Cokni O’ Dire, Jun, Culture D, Daz and Rankin’ Tomas re-unite once again for 2009’s “biggest session” to seamlessly intertwine classic rhythms on the dance floor upstairs at the legendary Grand Star Jazz Club in Chinatown, as well as bring you more eclectic dj mixes in-between the UMOJA Quintet’s live jazz sets happening in the lounge. It’s guaranteed to be a night to please as Umoja Sound hold’s it down fe de crown!
