An inspired collage of funk, soul, and Latin tunes created by DJ OBaH, Funk Aid for Africa features songs by twenty different artists including Ticklah, Ursula Rucker, King Britt, Chico Mann, The Lions, and Ocote Soul Sounds. The CD has been well received by the music community, both for its motives and its quality. Bruce Tantum of Time Out NY says, “The mix is a stone-cold funkfest, taking in Latin and African rhythms, soulful house, disco and dub, all mixed in a creatively nonlinear fashion.”

These funds will aid in the construction of a modest ‘green’ sports facility at the Youth With A Vision environmental community center in South Africa. The sports facility will be part of the already 10+ structures serving as a beacon of hope in a community devastated by poverty and AIDS, as well as a place where resources are being concentrated, aid efficiently distributed, and youth inspired to reach their potential.
