Bio

DonGuapo came to the Bay by way of Los Angeles. He grew up on his father’s love for jazz and soul, his mother’s passion for rock and classical, and the golden era of hip hop. Frustrated with the changing landscape of hiphop, Guapo turned to house music and Disco thus beginning the birth of his new life in the club within the realm of all things House. He began DJing in 1997 around the same time he grew tired of holding up the walls going out at night. This magnetic DJ soon developed a name for himself and his rich taste in music while playing tracks that infused the dance floor with a much needed shot of energy. He eventually began residing at Therapy, a Hollywood staple along with Gabriel Rene of the famed Naked Music. It is here at Therapy he has shared the decks with West Coast House legend Marques Wyatt as well as Andy Caldwell, Miguel Migs and a host of others. Recently, Guapo moved to the Bay Area to push the envelope of his career even further. Upon arrival he has shared the decks with Julius Papp, Mark Farina, Andrew Phelan, Bay Area staple Dedan, and the like. Guapo’s style ranges from Deep and Tribal House to the classics. Make sure you bring a towel and some comfortable shoes when you get the chance to check him out, because the walls will not be up for the holding.
